The West Coast Soccer podcast - the buses of the podcast world and two of them are coming at you at once this week with our look at what's been happening with Vancouver Whitecaps, and football in BC, Canada and throughout North America.

One of our guests in this episode is Steven Sandor, editor of the11.ca and your go to guy for everything you could possibly want to know about FC Edmonton.

Lots of talk about the Eddies, as they prepare for the second leg of their Voyageurs Cup clash with Vancouver, and some interesting going ons in NASL.

We are also joined by Philippe Germain, editor of SoccerPlus for some more NASL talk and a chat about the great start to the season made by Montreal Impact, with some interesting stuff on what their fans are thinking of how the team treat the Voyageurs Cup.

It's Episode 37 of your West Coast Soccer podcast, our regular look at what's been happening with Vancouver Whitecaps, and football in BC, Canada and throughout North America.

Fresh from his first MLS start and goal, Whitecaps striker Corey Hertzog tells us about life in Vancouver, what the San Jose game meant for him personally and what playing alongside international strikers like Thierry Henry and Kenny Miller has meant to his game.

We hear from Canadian U17 head coach Sean Fleming about the team's impressive performances at the CONCACAF World Cup qualification tournament, the important part that the five Whitecaps have played in the tournament, what the future holds in store for Caps keeper Marco Carducci and more.

There's also your regular dose of Whitecaps chat, as we pick over the bones of the draw in San Jose and discuss just what kind of a challenge Real Salt Lake will pose to the Caps this weekend. A soft, half hearted one or a Nigel Reo-Coker bone cruncher?

Have a listen.

It's the first day of spring and we celebrate by springing into action with Episode 35 of our West Coast Soccer podcast.

It's an international weekend but that hasn't stopped MLS scheduling matches for depleted teams and the Whitecaps head to Houston for their first away game of the new season.

Pierce chats with the voice of the Dynamo Matt Pedersen, radio broadcaster with Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM. He looks ahead to this weekend's clash and has some words of comfort for Caps fans as the team head into the fortress that is BBVA Compass Stadium.

Turning our attention to home, I sit down with Michael Findlay, the Director of Soccer Operations with BC Soccer, to discuss the CSA's much talked about LTPD plan, player development in general and what to do with the black hole that currently exists from players in the 18 to 23 age range.

Make sure you stay listening to the end as we play you out with some clips from the newly retired Paul Stalteri from our chat with him back in December.

Music this week is:

Hold The Line by Major Lazer

Ridin' by Chanillionaire and Krayzie

Bone Back Then by Mike Jones

Down The Road by C2C

Jupiter by Tourist

34. The number of games in a MLS season, Caleb Clarke's number, and the latest episode of our podcast.

We have a variety of guests this week for your listening enjoyment.

Paul Mullen, the executive director of BC Soccer, joins us to discuss the role of the association in the game here in BC and throughout Canada. We discuss player development, the Provincial Cup and a lot more.

Turning to MLS matters, Jeremiah Oshan from Sounder At Heart joins us to preview the first Cascadia Cup clash of the season between the Sounders and Timbers on Saturday.

But don't worry Caps fans, you're covered too with a healthy dose of comment from MLSSoccer.com's Martin MacMahon and an unhealthy dose from myself and Pierce.

We also take a look at the Whitecaps poor showing in the 3-0 defeat to UBC and have some post-game soundbites from Martin Rennie and UBC star, and Whitecaps PDL captain, Gagan Dosanjh.

And there's still time for our latest Sweet Ride "Brain Freezes of the Week".

Have a listen.

Aller guten dinge sind drei. All good things come in threes.

That is one of the few phrases that I actually remember from my four years of high school German. And things do come better in threes, or so I've been trying to convince the wife.

Our show this week must be doubly good then, because we have two of them, as it's Episode 33 of our West Coast Soccer podcast.

Our main guest this week is Adam Jardy from The Columbus Dispatch, as we look ahead to the Whitecaps meeting with Columbus Crew on Saturday.

There's also some good snippets from brief chats I had this past week with MLS Commissioner Don Garber and new Whitecap Nigel Reo-Coker.

Pierce and me are also on hand to look at what's been going on in Whitecapsland and there's still time for our latest Sweet Ride "Brain Freeze of the Week".

Have a listen. Better sound this week too!

Happy New Year!

Ok, we're a bit late, but better late than never, as we return with our first show of 2013 and it's a MLS season preview.

How have the Whitecaps done in their offseason rebuild? Will they make the playoffs again? And who are the main challengers in the Western Conference? We discuss all of that and a lot more besides and there's some snippets from Caps coach Martin Rennie and president Bobby Lenarduzzi, but you need to listen right to the very end to get them all.

Our main guest this week is Rudi Schuller from Goal Canada. He's here to discuss all things TFC. Well, maybe not all things. We didn't have that much available bandwidth.

Have a listen. And apologies for the shitty sound at my end of things.

An eventful 2012 is nearly over. There’s been highs, there’s been lows, successes and failures, and generally the feeling that the Whitecaps have something good to build on even further in 2013.

Pierce Lang and myself are joined once again by AFTN writer Steve Pandher to pick over the bones of this year in the last part of our three part podding extravaganza.

This episode we take a look back at the months of September to December, when the Whitecaps got their season back on track just in time and made MLS history before the next round of roster roulette got underway.

We also decide upon our ’Sweet Ride Brain Freeze Of The Year’.

Have a listen and have a wonderful and safe New Year, wherever you may be listening.
